- The objects of the Organisation are to advance the education in and promote improved standards of human resource management in charities, with the aim of increasing their effectiveness and efficiency ("the Objects").
- Membership shall be open to individuals with the lead responsibility for the development and management of Human Resources in national charitable or voluntary organisations. This may be the person responsible for (a) providing HR advice directly to the Chief Executive and/or Trustees of the organisation; and (b) the operation, activity and performance of the HR function. Please note that ‘national' is interpreted as being a ‘significant geographical area'.
- Contact details of members shall be circulated on a regular basis to all members. Such information shall be provided by the Organisation for use by members only and as such members are required to take due care of such information and not pass to third parties without permission of the individual or the Organisation.
- A member may resign at any time by giving written notice to the Co-ordinator; however under no circumstances will a refund of subscription be made.
- The Steering Group may terminate the membership of any person in accordance with regulations made by the Steering Group if, after due enquiry, the Steering Group resolves that the interests of the Organisation so require.
- When a member leaves the organisation for which he or she had the lead responsibility at the time of his or her admission to membership, his or her membership shall be deemed to have ended. The individual who replaces that person in that organisation with the same lead responsibility shall be admitted to membership in substitution subject to that person agreeing to become a member. Additionally if there is an interim period before a replacement in that organisation with the same lead responsibility takes up his or her appointment another appropriate employee may request permission to attend any meeting as an observer with no voting rights.
- Membership of the Organisation is not transferable (except in the circumstances referred to in Clause 6.6).
